The ASUS GT-AXE16000 is a quad-band wireless router built for Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) environments. It targets enthusiasts and competitive gamers who need simultaneous high-throughput streams across four distinct radio bands. The router includes dual 10 Gbps LAN/WAN ports, a 2.5 Gbps WAN port and four gigabit LAN ports for wired backbone connectivity.

Capacity and headroom across four bands

Combined wireless data rates reach up to 16000 Mbps aggregated across the 2.4 GHz, two 5 GHz and the new 6 GHz radios. Each 5 GHz band and the 6 GHz band support 4x4 1024 QAM with 20/40/80/160 MHz channels up to 4804 Mbps, while the 2.4 GHz band delivers up to 1148 Mbps. The 6 GHz band provides wider channels and less interference but requires Wi-Fi 6E client devices to utilise the spectrum.

Build integration and expansion

A 2.0 GHz quad-core processor drives traffic handling, VPN Fusion and triple-level game acceleration. AiMesh supports dedicated 5 GHz or 6 GHz wireless backhaul with compatible ASUS routers for flexible mesh expansion. Two USB ports (USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0) allow network storage or printer sharing. Eight non-detachable external antennas are fixed, so physical positioning determines coverage patterns.
