Z170 ATX motherboard for 6th-gen Intel Core
This ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII RANGER uses the LGA1151 socket and Z170 chipset for 6th-generation Intel Core desktop processors. It supports dual-channel DDR4 memory up to 3400 OC and provides six PCIe slots plus one M.2 slot for expansion. SupremeFX audio and 5-Way Optimization with Auto-Tuning are built in.
Verify CPU socket and cooler clearance
Confirm your processor uses the LGA1151 socket and matches the 6th-generation Intel Core family before ordering. The board requires an ATX-compatible case and a power supply with the necessary EPS and PCIe connectors. Ensure your DDR4 modules are rated for the speeds you intend to run.
I/O shield included; cables and manuals omitted
The package contains only the motherboard and the I/O shield in an anti-static bag and plain box. No SATA cables, M.2 screws, SLI bridges, driver discs, user manuals or Wi-Fi antennas are supplied. Plan to source those items separately for a complete build.

Questions sur cet article
Does the board ship with SATA cables, a Wi-Fi antenna, SLI bridge or driver disc?
Only the motherboard and I/O shield are included; cables, antenna, SLI bridge, driver disc and manual must be sourced separately.
With a single M.2 slot, should I choose a SATA or PCIe drive for the fastest boot?
The board has one M.2 slot; select a drive that matches the slot's electrical interface for best speed.
What does the DDR4 3400 (OC) rating mean once the system is running?
Memory can be pushed to 3400 MT/s through overclocking, but default speeds will be lower unless XMP or manual tuning is applied.
