The x3650 M3 7945 provides 18 RDIMM sockets across six banks of three, or 12 UDIMM sockets across four banks of three. Quad-rank DIMMs are limited to six per CPU or 12 with two CPUs and will clock down to 800 MHz when two are installed in the same bank. Mixing x4 and x8 4GB modules is allowed across the system but not within a single bank. Confirm your current configuration matches these constraints before ordering.

Replaces lower-capacity or non-ECC kits

This kit upgrades from smaller registered ECC sets or from unbuffered modules that the platform cannot use in RDIMM slots. The jump is worthwhile when you need the full 24GB across three matched sticks for triple-channel operation or when replacing mismatched modules that force the system to run at reduced speeds. It does not suit builds that require UDIMM-only populations or capacities beyond the 48GB ECC UDIMM or 288GB registered maximums.
