The Dell Latitude 5500 is a 15.6-inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8665U quad-core processor with a 4.80 GHz turbo frequency. Connectivity limited to USB 3.1 and HDMI

The system provides two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 port with PowerShare, and a USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 port that supports Power Delivery and DisplayPort. An optional Thunderbolt variant of the Type-C port may be present. Wired networking uses an RJ-45 jack and wireless uses 802.11ac. Video output relies on HDMI; there is no DisplayPort or native VGA. Straightforward setup with proprietary power

The 7.4 mm barrel connector is the only guaranteed way to charge the laptop, so losing the adapter stops work until a Dell replacement arrives. The Type-C port can deliver power only on models that include the optional Thunderbolt 3 configuration, which is not certain on every unit. Internally the SSD and memory are accessible after removing the base cover, but the battery is internal and not user-swappable. The optional fingerprint reader and smart-card reader require driver installation before they function.
