The Dell PowerEdge MX760C is a half-width blade server built for virtualisation, database and high-performance workloads. Two Intel Gold 6434 processors run at 3.7 GHz with 8 cores each and 22.5 MB cache. Memory totals 64 GB DDR4 across four 16 GB modules at 4800 MT/s. A PERC H755 MX controller manages the installed storage.

Suits scale-out clusters.

This blade targets organisations adding compute sleds to an existing Dell PowerEdge MX chassis with Fabric A, B and C switch bays. Buyers who need a standalone rack server or who require more than six 2.5-inch drive bays should look elsewhere. The single MX Marvell FastLinQ 41262 mezzanine provides dual 25 Gb connectivity, so environments demanding additional network adapters will need a different platform.

Six 2.5-inch drive bays

The chassis offers six 2.5-inch bays; two are populated with 1.92 TB SATA SSDs behind the H755 MX RAID controller. Remote management is handled by iDRAC9 Express. No optical drive is fitted. This bay count and the pre-installed SSD pair are the key figures when planning capacity and redundancy.
