Dual Xeon Gold 6130 1U server

The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rack server built for dense data-centre deployments. Two Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors deliver 16 cores each at 2.1 GHz with a 3.7 GHz turbo frequency. 64 GB of DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory supports virtualization, cloud and database workloads. Four 3.5-inch drive bays come populated with enterprise SAS hard drives.

HBA330 storage and dual 550 W PSUs

A Dell PERC HBA330 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA controller manages the four 4 TB 7.2 K SAS drives installed in the front bays. Dual 550 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies provide redundant power for continuous operation. Integrated dual-port gigabit Ethernet handles network connectivity. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote monitoring and administration without a dedicated console. The front bezel and ready rails are not included.

12 Gb/s SAS interface and 1U constraints

The HBA330 controller operates at 12 Gb/s across SAS and SATA drives, limiting throughput to that link speed. Four 3.5-inch bays restrict total raw capacity to the installed 16 TB unless larger drives are sourced. A single 1U chassis leaves no room for additional internal storage expansion beyond the four bays. PCIe expansion slots are available for networking or storage upgrades, but physical space remains tight. Buyers who need more drive bays or higher single-thread performance should consider larger form factors.
