This 1U rack server delivers dense compute in a 10-bay 2.5-inch chassis. A single Xeon E5-2698 v3 processor provides 16 cores at 2.3 GHz with 40 MB cache. The system ships with 384 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 Enterprise.

Upgrade from smaller R630 configs

Moving from a 4-bay or 8-bay R630 to the 10SFF chassis adds two or four additional drive slots without increasing rack height. The jump is worth it when storage density per rack unit is the limiting factor. The PERC H730 controller supports the full bay count with hardware RAID. A second processor socket remains open for future CPU expansion.

384 GB DDR4 headroom

The installed 384 GB DDR4 covers large virtualisation clusters, in-memory databases and heavy container workloads. Maximum supported capacity reaches 1.5 TB when all DIMM slots are populated. Ten 2.5-inch SAS bays provide flexible capacity scaling with the H730 controller. Integrated graphics and dual 10 GbE plus dual 1 GbE ports handle management and data traffic without extra cards.
