Dual-socket Xeon server for dense compute

The Dell PowerEdge R630 packs two Xeon E5-2680 v3 processors, each running at 2.5 GHz with twelve cores, into a 1U rack frame. With 768 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory already installed, the system targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes and high-throughput batch workloads that need many threads and large memory capacity in minimal rack space.

Verify rack depth power and drive carrier supply

The chassis measures 36 x 24 x 10 inches and weighs 40 units, so confirm your cabinet depth and weight rating before ordering. Two 495 W power supplies are fitted; ensure your PDU connectors and circuit capacity match. Eight 2.5-inch SAS drive bays are present but empty, and the PERC H730 RAID controller requires compatible SAS drives or SSDs — no drives ship with the unit.

iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management included

The integrated iDRAC8 Enterprise licence gives full out-of-band console, power control and firmware update access over a dedicated management port. Four onboard network ports — two 10 GbE and two 1 GbE — handle production traffic without extra cards. The half-height PCIe slots remain free for additional NICs, HBAs or accelerators, while the 1.5 TB maximum memory ceiling leaves headroom for future DIMM upgrades.
