Virtualisation and database clusters

This configuration suits teams running dense virtualisation, cloud infrastructure or high-performance computing workloads that benefit from high core counts and fast memory in a single rack unit. The ten-bay front layout supports mixed SAS, SATA and NVMe drives for flexible storage tiers. Buyers who need GPU acceleration for AI training should look elsewhere, as the 1U form factor does not accommodate add-in accelerators. Organisations requiring more than two sockets or memory beyond 1 TB will need a larger platform.

PERC H745 RAID controller with 4 GB NV cache

The storage controller determines which RAID levels are available and whether the write cache survives a power loss. The H745 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, and its battery-backed cache protects in-flight data during unexpected shutdowns. If your deployment relies on a different RAID feature set or requires a controller without cache backup, this server will not match those requirements.
