The PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server that fits two Xeon Gold 6338 processors, each with 32 cores at 2.0 GHz and 3.2 GHz turbo. It ships with 512 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz registered ECC memory across 16 DIMM slots. Eight 1.92 TB SATA SSDs are managed by a PERC H745 RAID controller with 4 GB NV cache supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 10 GbE SFP+ ports on a 57412 OCP 3.0 card and iDRAC9 Enterprise complete the package for virtualization, cloud infrastructure or dense analytics.

Verify Rack Power And Cooling

Confirm the rack provides dual 1400 W platinum hot-swap power connections and sufficient airflow for a 1U chassis under full CPU load. The motherboard uses LGA 4189 sockets and supports a maximum of 1 TB DDR4, so any future memory expansion must use registered ECC DDR4 modules. The H745 controller occupies a dedicated internal slot; ensure no other add-in cards conflict with the OCP 3.0 network adapter. Drive bays accept 2.5 inch SATA, SAS or NVMe media, but the installed set is SATA only.

Included Rails And Bezel Speed Deployment

ReadyRails sliding rails and a front bezel are bundled, letting the unit mount in standard four-post racks without extra hardware. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables remote KVM, firmware updates and power cycling over a dedicated management port, reducing on-site visits. The PERC H745 battery-backed cache protects in-flight writes during unexpected power loss. Two 1400 W platinum supplies provide full redundancy; removing one leaves the other to carry the entire load without throttling.
