Dual 18-core Xeon compute density

The R730xd fits two E5-2699 v3 processors at 2.3 GHz with 18 cores each into a 2U rack chassis. One hundred twenty-eight gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory across 24 slots support virtualisation hosts, database nodes or HPC worker roles. Twenty-four front bays accept the supplied 600 GB 10K SAS drives for high-IOPS local storage.

Sustained throughput with hardware RAID

The PERC H730 controller presents RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through, backed by a 1 GB cache battery that protects writes during power loss. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies share load and allow hot-swap replacement without downtime. Quad-port networking combines two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links for storage and migration traffic.

Serviceable 2U form factor

ReadyRails mount the server in standard four-post racks without tools and the front bezel snaps on for a clean face. iDRAC 8 Enterprise gives dedicated remote console, power control and hardware inventory over a separate management port. All drives, power supplies and fans are hot-swappable from the front or rear so failed components can be replaced while workloads continue.
