Dual Silver 4210R 2U server

This Dell PowerEdge R740 delivers 20 cores at 2.4GHz and 512GB of DDR4 memory in a 2U rack chassis. It targets organisations that need dense compute for virtualisation, database or application workloads. The system ships with eight 120GB SATA SSDs managed by an H730P RAID controller. Remote administration is handled by iDRAC9 Enterprise.

PCIe Gen 3 and 10GbE ceiling

The platform provides up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots for add-in cards such as GPUs, NICs or storage controllers. Network connectivity is fixed at two 10Gb RJ45 and two 1Gb RJ45 ports via the Intel X550 NDC. No additional onboard Ethernet or faster network interfaces are present. Storage expansion is limited to the eight 2.5-inch drive bays already populated.
