The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server fitted with two Intel Silver 4210R processors, each running at 2.4 GHz with ten cores and 13.75 MB cache. Dual 1100 W redundant power supplies, sliding rails, bezel and power cords are included, so the system is ready for rack integration without extra parts.
Eight 2.5-inch bay limit
The chassis accommodates a maximum of eight 2.5-inch drives, and six bays are already occupied by the supplied SSDs. Buyers who need more internal storage must plan for larger drives or external arrays because no additional bays exist. The network daughter card provides two 10 Gb RJ45 and two 1 Gb RJ45 ports, but no optical drive is fitted.
