2U rack server with dual 12-core CPUs

The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 fits in a standard 2U rack space and ships with two Intel Gold 6126 processors running at 2.6GHz. Each CPU provides 12 cores and 19.25M cache for a total of 24 threads. The system includes 512GB of DDR4 memory arranged as sixteen 32GB modules at PC4-2400 speed. Four 120GB SATA RI SSDs are pre-installed behind the H730P RAID controller.

Eight 2.5-inch bays and up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots

The chassis offers eight 2.5-inch drive bays, leaving four bays free for additional storage. Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 expansion slots are available for network cards, GPU accelerators or extra storage controllers. Network connectivity is handled by an Intel X550 NDC providing two 10Gb RJ45 ports and two 1Gb RJ45 ports. No optical drive is fitted, preserving internal space for other components.

Redundant 1100W power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise

Dual 1100W redundant power supplies maintain uptime if one unit fails. Remote management is provided by iDRAC9 Enterprise for out-of-band monitoring and control. The server includes a front bezel without LCD, sliding rails and power cords. The configuration is not eligible for export.
