This new Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 rack server ships with two Intel Silver 4210R processors running at 2.4 GHz, each providing ten cores and 13.75 MB cache. The system includes 32 GB of DDR4 memory configured as two 16 GB PC4-2666 modules. Four 300 GB 10K SAS drives are installed behind an H730P RAID controller.

The 2U chassis holds up to eight 2.5-inch drive bays, so four bays remain free for storage expansion. Dual 1100 W redundant power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management support continuous operation. Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots provide I/O flexibility.
