The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4310 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 12 cores. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 DIMM slots. The platform targets enterprise workloads such as virtualization, databases and analytics that demand high core counts and large memory capacity in a dense form factor.

Upgrade from single-socket or lower-core systems

Adding the second Silver 4310 doubles thread count and memory channels, which benefits heavily threaded applications and virtual machine density. The jump is worthwhile when workloads scale across NUMA nodes and can exploit the combined 24 cores and 768 GB RAM. Buyers who need fewer cores or less memory will find the configuration excessive for lighter tasks.

PCIe Gen4 and 12-bay 3.5" storage limits

The server uses PCIe Gen4 for internal expansion, doubling bandwidth over the prior generation. Twelve 3.5-inch trays accept SAS and SATA drives, while NVMe support requires 2.5-inch bays not populated here. The PERC H755 controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 8 GB NV cache. Networks are limited to the quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 card included.
