The Dell PowerEdge T430 arrives as a 5U rack system equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 processors running at 2.2 GHz with a 2.9 GHz turbo. Twelve cores per CPU and 64 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across four modules provide a solid base for VMware ESXi, Hyper-V or Proxmox VE clusters, SQL databases and file services. The chassis supports up to 384 GB across twelve slots when workloads expand.

Hot-swap drive bays and redundant platinum power

Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays are present, with eight Dell 13G drive trays installed and a PERC H730P 2 GB controller offering RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes for SAS and SATA media. Dual 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies are hot-swappable, so a failed unit can be replaced without downtime. The front bezel and ready rails are not included, so rack mounting hardware must be sourced separately.

Remote management and dual gigabit networking

Integrated iDRAC 8 Express with Lifecycle Controller enables out-of-band monitoring, firmware updates and remote console access over a dedicated network port. Two onboard 1 GbE ports handle production traffic or management segregation without extra NICs. PCIe slots remain free for additional RAID, networking or accelerator cards as requirements change.
