The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower system built for virtualization, database hosting and software-defined storage. Dual Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors deliver twenty-four cores at 2.3 GHz with 3.2 GHz turbo for multi-threaded workloads. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory supports reliable operation. The PERC H730P controller manages four 1.92 TB SATA SSDs in RAID configurations from 0 to 60.

Hot-swap drive bays and redundant power

Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays accept SAS, SATA and SSD media for flexible capacity planning. Dual 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide redundancy without shutting down the server. Integrated dual-port gigabit Ethernet handles baseline network traffic. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote firmware updates, power cycling and hardware monitoring from any browser. The front bezel and rack rails are not included with this unit.

Thermals and power in normal use

Redundant hot-plug power supplies share the load, reducing stress on each unit during typical operation. Platinum-rated efficiency lowers heat output compared with standard supplies. Tower airflow moves cool air across both processor sockets and the memory array. Fan speeds adjust automatically to maintain safe temperatures under varying compute intensity. The chassis design supports continuous operation in office or data-centre environments.
