Purpose-built server

The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server that can be converted for rack mounting with an optional kit. Two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors running at 2.1 GHz with 3.0 GHz turbo deliver 16 cores for virtualisation, database hosting and file storage workloads. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across 16 slots and supports up to 1 TB total capacity. Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays accept SAS, SATA and SSD drives for flexible storage scaling.

Thermals and power

Dual 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide redundant hot-swap operation to maintain uptime during a module failure. The 5U chassis height allows generous airflow paths for the dual-socket configuration under sustained compute loads. Integrated iDRAC 9 Express enables remote thermal monitoring and power management without requiring host OS access.

Build integration

A Dell PERC H730P 2 GB controller with battery-backed cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through modes across the drive bays. Four 2.5-inch drive trays are included to start populating the front enclosure. Dual integrated gigabit Ethernet ports handle baseline networking while PCI Express slots remain open for additional RAID, networking, GPU or specialised accelerators. Buyers who need front bezel or ready rails must source them separately.
