The ASM3142 controller handles USB 3.2 traffic and the card draws slot power, with an optional SATA connector for extra current. Fits x4 to x16 slots; driver needed on Windows 7

The half-height bracket fits any PCI Express x4, x8 or x16 slot on PCIe 2.0 or 3.0 motherboards. No external power brick is required; the optional SATA power plug supplements port current when the slot alone cannot deliver 5 V 3 A per port. Windows 8, 10, 11, macOS 10.8.2+ and most Linux kernels load drivers automatically. Windows 7 and XP require the Renesas/VLI driver from the included CD before the ports appear.
