S690Q 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe drive

The S690Q 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe drive uses a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface to deliver sequential reads up to 4800 MB/s and writes up to 2900 MB/s. It is built with QLC flash and an SLC cache to handle everyday workloads and game libraries. The compact 2280 form factor fits PS5 expansion slots as well as desktop and laptop M.2 sockets. A graphene heat-dissipation sticker helps manage thermals during extended use.

Installing the M.2 2280 module

Installation is a standard M.2 2280 procedure: insert the drive at an angle into the keyed slot, press it flat and secure it with the supplied screw. The package includes a screwdriver and screw so no extra tools are required. The drive has no integrated heatsink, so ensure the motherboard or console slot provides adequate airflow. Common issues are forgetting to enable the NVMe slot in BIOS or using a slot that shares bandwidth with other devices.

1TB capacity and 320 TBW endurance

The 1TB capacity comfortably holds an operating system, applications and a large game collection with room for updates and media. Rated at 320 TBW, the drive offers enough write endurance for typical consumer workloads including frequent game installs and video editing scratch files. Sustained heavy write workloads that exceed the SLC cache will see reduced performance as the QLC media writes directly. For archival storage or read-heavy use the drive remains consistent.
