Workstation motherboard for Xeon E
The GIGABYTE C246M-WU4 uses the Intel C246 chipset on a Micro ATX board with an LGA 1151 (300 Series) socket. It supports Intel Xeon E series processors as well as 9th and 8th Generation Intel Core, Pentium and Celeron CPUs. Older LGA 1151 processors are not compatible.

Verify that your processor is an Intel Xeon E series or a 9th or 8th Generation Core, Pentium or Celeron part. The board will not work with earlier LGA 1151 CPUs. Plan for DDR4 2666, 2400 or 2133 modules across four 288-pin slots running in dual-channel mode up to 64 GB total.
Dual M.2 and eight SATA ports free up drive bays
One M.2 socket accepts 2242, 2260, 2280 or 22110 PCIe x4 or x2 SSDs while a second takes 2242, 2260 or 2280 SATA and PCIe x4 or x2 drives. Eight SATA 6Gb/s connectors provide RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 support. A single PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and two x1 slots handle add-in cards, and dual Intel GbE LAN ports supply two 1 Gbps network links.
