Socket LGA 1151 micro-ATX board
The GIGABYTE GA-H270M-D3H is a micro-ATX motherboard built around the Intel H270 chipset for LGA 1151 processors. It accepts 6th and 7th generation Core i7, i5, i3, Pentium and Celeron CPUs. Four DDR4 slots support up to 64 GB of memory in dual-channel mode. The board fits standard micro-ATX chassis.
Passive chipset cooling
The H270 chipset uses a passive heatsink so there is no chipset fan to generate noise. A 24-pin ATX main connector and an 8-pin ATX 12 V connector deliver power to the CPU and board components. Power draw scales with the installed processor and attached devices. No active cooling is required for the chipset itself.
DDR4 2400 MHz requires a 7th generation CPU
Memory rated at 2400 MHz or XMP profiles only operates at that speed when a 7th generation processor is installed. With a 6th generation CPU the memory runs at 2133 MHz. This distinction decides whether the board can utilise faster DDR4 modules at their rated frequency.
