The HP DL380 Gen10 is a 2U rackmount server built for business workloads such as virtualization, databases and application hosting. Dual Intel Xeon Gold 6140 processors each deliver 18 cores at 2.30GHz for dependable multi-threaded performance. 256GB of DDR4 memory supports multiple services and virtual machines simultaneously. Four 300GB 15K SAS drives provide storage for operating systems, applications and backups.

SAS interface and controller limits

The P408i-a 12Gb/s SAS controller manages the four installed drives and any additional 2.5-inch bays up to the eight-bay chassis limit. SAS topology constrains total device count and cable length inside the rack, so expansion planning must respect the controller port map. The 15K spindle speed optimises random I/O for transactional workloads rather than sequential throughput. Integrated GPU output is limited to basic management display tasks.

Rackmount build and connectivity

The server weighs 60 units and fits a standard 2U rack space with eight front-access drive bays for hot-swap maintenance. Front-panel LEDs show power, Ethernet and USB status at a glance. Quad-port 1Gb Ethernet (331FLR) provides redundant network links for production traffic and management. The chassis depth and rail mounting suit typical enterprise cabinets without special clearance requirements.
