This HP ProLiant DL380 Gen10 is a 2U rackmount server system designed for data centres, server rooms and growing business IT environments. It arrives new with two Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors installed, each running at 2.3GHz with 18 cores, giving 48 threads total. The chassis provides ten 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays with trays included, and four onboard 1GbE RJ45 ports handle network connectivity. Integrated graphics and redundant hot-plug power supplies complete the platform for memory-heavy enterprise workloads.

Buyers who need GPU-accelerated compute, fibre-channel storage networking or a tower form factor should look elsewhere. The integrated graphics and onboard 1GbE ports limit high-throughput GPU tasks and specialised storage fabrics. Organisations requiring a different rack height or a higher single-thread frequency will need another platform. This configuration targets memory-intensive services such as SAP HANA, Cassandra and large virtual-machine farms.

512GB DDR4 ECC registered memory

The installed 512GB of DDR4 ECC registered RAM supports multiple virtual machines and data-heavy applications out of the box. Twelve additional DIMM slots allow expansion up to the 3TB platform limit for larger in-memory datasets. Memory type and generation are fixed to DDR4; other generations will not fit. This capacity ceiling is the primary factor when sizing the server for specific workloads.
