Ninety-six gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across the twenty-four DIMM slots, reaching the configured maximum. The Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB flash-backed write cache manages up to sixteen 2.5-inch SAS drive bays, while dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies deliver redundancy.

Fit for virtualisation clusters, not GPU workloads

This platform suits teams consolidating virtual machines, running database instances or hosting memory-intensive applications that benefit from high core counts and large ECC memory capacity. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics subsystem with 16 MB video memory provides only basic console output, so buyers who need hardware-accelerated graphics, GPU compute or video transcoding should look at a different class of system. No operating system is included, so an OS licence and installation media must be sourced separately.

Sixteen SFF bays define storage scale

The chassis offers sixteen small-form-factor drive bays as the decisive capacity limit; each bay accepts a 2.5-inch SAS SSD or HDD, and the P440 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across them. If the workload requires more than sixteen drives, additional bay kits or a separate storage enclosure are necessary. Memory is already at the 96 GB installed ceiling for this configuration, so further expansion would require a processor change to unlock higher-capacity DIMMs.
