Single-Socket Upgrade from Older 1U Platforms

This server supports a maximum of one processor, replacing dual-socket 1U systems where single-thread performance and core density matter more than socket count. The jump is worth it when workloads benefit from the 16-core Xeon 6 architecture and DDR5 bandwidth without needing a second CPU. The MR408i-o storage controller with 4GB cache handles RAID across eight SFF bays. Five hot-swap fans maintain airflow during component changes.

64GB DDR5 Headroom with PCIe Gen5 Expansion

The installed 64GB DDR5 capacity suits virtualisation hosts, database nodes and container platforms that fit within a single socket. Memory runs out when workloads exceed 64GB or require more than two DIMM slots per channel. Three PCIe Gen5 x16 slots and two OCP 3.0 x16 slots provide high-speed connectivity for accelerators, networking or storage adapters. The Broadcom BCM5719 1GbE 4-port OCP adapter handles baseline networking. No SSDs are installed, so storage capacity starts at zero.
