General-purpose 1U rack server

The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 P36183-B21 is a 1U rackmount server built for general-purpose workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon 5218R 20-core processor running at 2.30 GHz and 32 GB of HPE DDR4 Smart Memory. An HPE Smart Array P408i-a controller with 2 GB cache and Smart Storage Battery manages up to eight small form factor drive bays. A 10Gb 2-port 562FLR-T adapter provides high-speed network connectivity.

Thermals noise and power draw

A single HPE 800W Flex Slot Platinum hot-plug power supply delivers efficient power conversion for the configured components. The 1U chassis uses managed airflow to cool the 20-core processor, memory and storage controller within standard data-centre temperature ranges. Fan speed is regulated by the integrated iLO management engine based on real-time thermal sensors. Redundant power is not included in this configuration.

Upgrade from single-socket or older generation

This server replaces single-socket platforms that have exhausted CPU cores, memory slots or PCIe 3.0 expansion capacity. The 20-core Xeon 5218R and 32 GB DDR4 Smart Memory suit virtualization hosts, database nodes or application servers needing more threads and larger working sets. Two PCIe 3.0 slots allow adding GPUs, additional NICs or storage controllers. Buyers who need dual-socket performance, more than eight drive bays or redundant power supplies should evaluate larger chassis options.
