The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 is a 2U rack server built for organisations that run virtualised workloads, databases or multiple simultaneous applications. Dual Xeon Silver 4410y processors provide 12 cores each at a 2.00 GHz base frequency with turbo up to 3.90 GHz. The system includes 512 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC buffered memory and 30.72 TB of enterprise SAS SSD storage. Windows Server 2022 Standard is licensed for 16 cores.

Sustained load behaviour

Redundant hot-swappable power supplies allow a failed unit to be replaced without taking the server offline. The MR408i-o Gen11 storage controller with 4 GB cache manages the eight 3.84 TB SAS 12Gb/s SSDs under continuous read and write pressure. DDR5-4800 memory bandwidth and PCIe Gen5 lanes keep data moving between CPUs, memory and storage during extended compute tasks. iLO 6 provides remote monitoring and management throughout operation.

Interface practical limits

The embedded OCP3 adapter delivers four 1 GbE ports for standard network connectivity. SAS 12Gb/s drives connect through the x8 lane storage controller, defining the maximum throughput for the attached SSD array. PCIe Gen5 expansion slots support additional controllers or accelerators within the 2U chassis. Memory capacity is populated with sixteen 32 GB modules, reaching the configured 512 GB total.
