This HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 rack server arrives new with two Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 processors running at 2.3GHz and 512GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. The 4LFF chassis supports up to four 3.5-inch drive bays and includes an HPE Smart Array P440 SAS controller plus dual 500W Flex Slot power supplies. Remote management is handled by HPE iLO Advanced with a 1Gb 2-port 332T network adapter fitted.

Virtualisation hosts, database nodes and batch-compute clusters that need 512GB of DDR4 across two 12-core CPUs will fit this configuration. The P440 controller manages SAS or SATA drives in the four available bays. Buyers who require more than four drive bays, faster single-thread performance or a larger memory ceiling than 3TB should evaluate other platforms.
