Dual Xeon E5-2696 v3 kit

This HUANANZHI X99 T8D motherboard arrives with two Intel Xeon E5-2696 v3 processors already installed. Each CPU delivers 18 cores and 36 threads at a 2.3 GHz base frequency with 45 MB of L3 cache. The combination targets workstations and servers that need high multi-threaded throughput for rendering, virtualization or scientific workloads. The LGA 2011-3 socket limits upgrades to the listed v3 Xeon models only.

12-layer PCB with 12-phase power

The board uses a 12-layer construction and a 12-phase voltage regulator fed by 24-pin plus dual 8-pin EPS connectors. Ten SATA 3.0 ports support large storage arrays while one M.2 NVMe and one M.2 NGFF slot accept fast boot drives. Rear I/O provides four USB 3.0, four USB 2.0, dual RTL8111H Gigabit Ethernet ports and six 3.5 mm analogue audio jacks driven by the ALC887 codec. Internal headers add two USB 2.0, one USB 3.0 and front-panel audio. Three full-length PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots allow multiple GPU or add-in cards.

Verify DDR3 ECC and E-ATX clearance

This platform requires DDR3 ECC memory running at 1333, 1600 or 1866 MHz across eight slots in a quad-channel layout; maximum capacity is 8 × 32 GB. The E-ATX form factor measures 300 × 320 mm so the chassis must accommodate that footprint and the corresponding mounting holes. Each processor draws 145 W, so the power supply must deliver sufficient 12 V current on both 8-pin EPS rails. No other CPU models or memory types are supported.
