Single 2.5 drive in slim ODD bay

The ICY DOCK ToughArmor MB411SKO-B is a full-metal mobile rack that installs one 2.5-inch SATA or SAS solid-state drive or hard drive into a 12.7 mm slim optical drive bay. It accepts drives from 5 mm to 9.5 mm thick and connects through a standard SATA 7-pin data cable plus a floppy 4-pin power connector.

Suited for SATA or SAS upgrades in compatible bays

This rack serves technicians who want to add high-speed SATA 6 Gbps or SAS 3.0 12 Gbps storage to a system with a traditional slim ODD slot and the required power header. It is not suitable for laptops or desktops that use a Slimline SATA backplane, nor for the listed Lenovo, Dell M4800, M4801, M6800 or HP M7 models.

SATA 6 Gbps or SAS 3.0 12 Gbps single-channel

The rack passes a single data channel rated for either SATA 6 Gbps or SAS 3.0 12 Gbps, so the installed drive runs at its native interface speed. The receiving SATA connector is rated for 10000 insertion cycles, and Active Power Technology lights the LED only when a drive is present.
