Lantronix SLC 8000 Device Server
The Lantronix SLC 8000 is a new server system designed for data-centre and edge environments. It provides vendor-neutral console access to switches, routers, servers, PDUs, UPS units and IoT assets. Swappable I/O modules for RJ45 and USB connections allow the platform to scale with infrastructure growth. ConsoleFlow software adds centralised visibility and automation across multiple sites.
IT teams managing heterogeneous hardware
Network and systems administrators who need secure, out-of-band access to diverse equipment will benefit from the automated cellular failover and role-based authentication. Organisations requiring only basic serial connectivity without advanced automation or cellular redundancy should evaluate simpler console servers instead.
45-port capacity with modular expansion
The chassis supports up to 45 ports through interchangeable modules, handling dense rack deployments and distributed edge nodes. When port counts exceed this limit or when non-serial interfaces are required, additional appliances or alternative architectures become necessary.

Questions sur cet article
What network interfaces must already be available on my switches or routers for the SLC 8000 to connect?
The SLC 8000 supports RJ45 and USB I/O modules that can be swapped in, so you need free RJ45 ports or USB ports on your existing network gear for the links you plan to use.
Will the SLC 8000 manage the serial consoles on my older switches, routers, servers, PDUs, UPSs and IoT devices?
Yes, it provides vendor-neutral console access for those device types, letting you control legacy infrastructure alongside newer equipment from the same appliance.
How can I confirm the SLC 8000 is operating correctly once installed?
Use the ConsoleFlow™ management platform to verify the device appears online, shows the expected port count, and reports successful console sessions to your connected assets.
