2-inch IPS SPI Display Module

The LORDWORLD 2-inch IPS module delivers a 240×320 pixel resolution with 262K colour depth. It uses an ST7789 driver and communicates over a four-wire SPI interface that needs only a few GPIO lines. The on-board controller handles primitives such as points, lines, circles and rectangles, plus text and image rendering.

SPI interface and controller support

The SPI connection keeps pin count low, leaving more GPIO free for sensors or other peripherals on the host board. Ready-made software examples are provided for Raspberry Pi using the BCM2835 and WiringPi libraries as well as Python, plus demo code for STM32 and Arduino platforms. This reduces integration effort for makers and embedded developers.

240×320 resolution and colour headroom

The 240 by 320 pixel panel suits status dashboards, simple menus and small graphics where 262K colours give smooth gradients. It is not suited to high-detail photographic output or video playback that would demand higher pixel counts or faster refresh rates. The SPI bus bandwidth also limits full-screen update speed for animation-heavy applications.

Questions sur cet article

At what resolution does the 2-inch IPS panel hit its pixel limit?

The module shows 240 by 320 pixels, so that is the hard resolution ceiling.

Does the ST7789 driver run hot or draw extra power during continuous operation?

The display uses an LED backlight and SPI control, which keeps heat and power draw low for all-day use.

Which host board and GPIO pins are needed to drive the SPI interface?

A Raspberry Pi, STM32 or Arduino with free SPI pins is required; demos use BCM2835, WiringPi and Python libraries.
