Raspberry Pi 4 expansion HAT

This HAT adds three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports and one Gigabit Ethernet port to a Raspberry Pi 4. It is designed for makers and developers who need extra high-speed peripherals and wired networking on a single board. The board draws power through an onboard USB-C 5 V input for stable operation. Driver-free installation works across Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.

USB 3.2 Gen1 and Gigabit Ethernet limits

Each USB port runs at up to 3.2 Gen1 speeds and remains backward compatible with USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices. The Ethernet port negotiates at 1000M, 100M or 10M depending on the connected switch or router. Total bandwidth is shared across the three USB ports and the Ethernet controller through the single upstream link. Cable quality and length will affect the maximum reliable throughput.

Check your Pi model and power budget

Verify that your Raspberry Pi version exposes the required header and that the board fits your enclosure. The external USB-C power port must be supplied with a 5 V source able to handle the combined draw of all attached USB devices. Ensure your operating system includes the standard kernel modules for USB hub and Ethernet functions. Development resources and a manual are included for reference.
