This 16 GB DDR4 2666 ECC SODIMM is built for the Synology RackStation RS822+ NAS. It adds error-correcting memory to a system that relies on data integrity for file services and virtualization. Replaces lower-capacity or non-ECC modules

Swapping the factory 4 GB or 8 GB stick for this 16 GB module doubles or quadruples usable memory while adding ECC protection. The jump is worth it when the NAS runs Docker containers, virtual machines or heavy multi-user file shares that exceed the original memory ceiling. Systems already at 16 GB with ECC will not benefit from this single-module upgrade.

Limited to DDR4 2666 SODIMM slot

The RS822+ accepts only DDR4 2666 unbuffered ECC SODIMMs at 1.2 V with CL19 timing. Faster DDR4 speeds downclock to 2666 MHz, and non-ECC or registered DIMMs are not supported. The single-slot design caps total memory at 16 GB, so larger deployments must use a different Synology model. No DDR5 or 288-pin DIMM will fit this platform.
