Purpose-built NAS upgrade

This 192GB kit contains six 32GB DDR4 3200 ECC RDIMM modules validated for the THINKMATE STX-TN-XE16-23S3 NAS. Each stick runs at 1.20V with CL22 timings and a 2Rx8 registered layout, delivering the error-correcting capacity that multi-user file services and virtualization workloads demand. The 288-pin form factor matches the server board slots exactly.

From non-ECC or lower capacity

Replacing standard unbuffered DIMMs or smaller registered kits removes the single-bit error risk that can corrupt ZFS pools or database volumes. The jump is worth it when the NAS hosts critical shares, runs containers, or serves simultaneous SMB and NFS clients that saturate the existing memory headroom. Without ECC registration the platform cannot guarantee data integrity under sustained load.

DDR4 platform ceiling

The memory controller tops out at DDR4 3200, so faster modules will downclock to this speed without benefit. Registered DIMMs also require a server-class chipset; consumer boards will not initialise them. The six-module population fills every slot on the target system, leaving no room for further expansion without a hardware change.
