Server capacity and configuration

This kit delivers 256 GB of DDR4 memory across two 128 GB LRDIMMs. It is built for servers that require registered ECC modules with a load-reduced design. The 4Rx4 organisation supports high-density configurations in compatible multi-socket platforms. It is not for desktop PCs or workstations that accept only unbuffered UDIMMs.

Speed headroom and density limits

Rated at DDR4 3200 (PC4-25600) with CAS latency 22, the modules operate at 1.2 V. The load-reduced buffer reduces electrical loading on the memory bus, allowing more ranks per channel than standard RDIMMs. Capacity per slot reaches 128 GB, so total system memory scales with the number of populated channels. Workloads exceeding this per-module density will need additional slots or higher-capacity parts.

DDR4 interface constraints

The 288-pin DDR4 interface caps transfer rates at the JEDEC 3200 MT/s standard used here. Bandwidth per module is therefore limited to the PC4-25600 specification. Systems that require faster memory speeds must move to a newer DDR generation, which uses a different pinout and voltage. Compatibility depends on the server memory controller supporting LRDIMM and 4Rx4 rank structure.
