System-Specific DDR5 Kit

This 256 GB kit contains two 128 GB registered DIMMs built for the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR780a V3 rack server. ECC and register circuitry protect data integrity in mission-critical workloads. The modules run at 5600 MT/s with a CAS latency of 46 at 1.10 V.

DDR5 5600 Interface Limits

The PC5-44800 standard tops out at 5600 MT/s, so this kit cannot exceed that transfer rate without a platform that officially supports higher JEDEC speeds. Registered buffering adds one cycle of command latency, which is normal for server memory. Four-rank organisation increases density but may restrict maximum population on some boards.

ECC RDIMM Build and Connectors

Each 288-pin module uses major-brand Samsung, Micron or Hynix chips without a heat spreader, relying on chassis airflow for cooling. The registered design places a buffer between the DRAM and the memory controller, reducing electrical load. Installers must match the keyed notch and populate slots in the order the server manual specifies.
