This 64GB kit contains four 16GB DDR5 4800 ECC registered DIMMs built for the SuperMicro IoT SuperServer SYS-211SE series. It targets administrators who need to expand memory capacity on these specific 1U platforms while maintaining error correction and registered signalling. The modules run at 1.1V with CL40 latency and use a 1Rx8 organisation on major OEM DRAM.

Replaces lower-capacity or non-ECC DDR5 DIMMs

The jump is worth it when workloads exceed the capacity of the factory-installed memory or when the system currently runs unbuffered non-ECC modules that lack error detection. Adding four registered DIMMs fills all four slots in the SYS-211SE chassis and enables the platform's full ECC capability for data integrity. Systems already populated with matching registered ECC DDR5 at the same speed will not see a functional upgrade.

DDR5 4800 registered ECC constraints

Registered DIMMs require a motherboard chipset and CPU memory controller that support registered signalling and ECC; the SYS-211SE platform provides this, but consumer desktop boards do not. Mixing registered with unbuffered DIMMs will prevent boot, so all slots must use registered modules. The 4800 MT/s speed is the baseline DDR5 data rate; faster DDR5 DIMMs will downclock to 4800 when installed in this server.
