11GB GDDR6 capacity and 4K headroom
The 11GB frame buffer handles high-resolution textures and complex ray-traced scenes at 4K without paging to system memory. At 7680x4320 the memory fills quickly and bandwidth becomes the limiting factor. Four simultaneous displays are supported but each additional monitor reduces available VRAM for the primary workload.
PCI Express 3.0 x16 and display limits
The PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface caps theoretical throughput at roughly 16GB/sec, which is below the card's 616GB/sec internal bandwidth. G-SYNC HDR operates up to 240Hz over DisplayPort while HDMI 2.0b is limited to lower refresh rates at 4K. The USB Type-C port carries DisplayPort alt-mode but adds no extra bandwidth.
