Portable NVMe Enclosure

The Orico M224-40Gbps USB4.0 enclosure turns a single M.2 2280 NVMe SSD into a high-speed external drive. It accepts both M-Key and B+M-Key NVMe modules but does not support SATA or AHCI variants. The rose-gold aluminium body houses the drive securely for portable data storage.

Sustained Transfer Behaviour

The USB 4.0 interface delivers up to 40 Gbps bandwidth, with a theoretical read ceiling of 2800 MB/s and write ceiling of 2100 MB/s per Orico lab tests. Real-world throughput scales with the installed SSD, the host port generation and system performance, so peak figures are not guaranteed under continuous load.

Thermals and Power

An aluminium cooling vest wraps the SSD on all sides and CNC-cut stripes increase the dissipation area, helping manage heat during extended transfers. The enclosure draws power from the host via the supplied 2-in-1 cable that provides both USB-C to C (40 Gbps) and USB-C to A (10 Gbps) connections. No external power adapter is required.
