Server ECC Registered RDIMM

This OWC module is a 256 GB DDR4 3200 CL22 8Rx4 288-pin 1.2 V ECC Registered RDIMM built for workstations and servers. It replaces Samsung M393ABG40M52-CAE and Micron MTA144ASQ32G72PSZ-3S2B1 parts. It will not work in standard desktop computers. It cannot be mixed with unbuffered or load-reduced memory.

256 GB capacity and headroom

The 256 GB density provides very large memory headroom for virtualisation, in-memory databases and heavy multi-threaded workloads. Eight ranks per module increase electrical loading on the memory controller. JEDEC-standard DDR4 3200 CL22 timing sets the performance envelope for compatible platforms.

Registered ECC requirement

The single specification that decides fit is the registered ECC RDIMM form factor. Only motherboards and processors that explicitly support registered ECC DDR4 can use this module. Unbuffered or consumer boards will not post with it installed.
