The Raspberry Pi Camera Module v2 is an 8 megapixel Sony IMX219 sensor board designed for Raspberry Pi single-board computers. It captures 3280 x 2464 pixel still images and records video at 1080p30, 720p60 and 640x480p90. The board measures 25mm x 23mm x 9mm and connects via a 15cm ribbon cable to the CSI port. Passive thermals and low power draw

The module has no active cooling and draws minimal power from the Raspberry Pi CSI interface. In normal use it runs silently and stays within the host board's thermal envelope. No fan or heatsink is required for the supported video modes.

Upgrade from the original 5MP camera board

This module replaces the first-generation Raspberry Pi camera by moving from a 5 megapixel sensor to the 8 megapixel Sony IMX219.
