Compact Fanless Power Kit
The Silverstone AD120-DC delivers 120 W through a fanless DC-DC board paired with a 12 V 10 A AC-DC adapter. It targets builders of compact systems such as the Milo 10 chassis who need silent operation and a minimal footprint. The black-wire loom includes a 24-pin ATX connector, an 8-pin EPS connector, three SATA connectors and one 4-pin peripheral connector.
Upgrade From Flex ATX Units
This kit replaces bulkier flex-ATX or low-profile internal supplies where space and noise are primary constraints. The jump is worthwhile when the total system draw stays within the 120 W limit and the chassis can accommodate the external adapter brick. Builds requiring higher wattage or additional PCIe power connectors cannot use this solution.
Limits of 12 V DC Input
The DC-DC board accepts a single 12 V input rated at 10 A, capping combined output at 120 W across all rails. Cable lengths are fixed at 200 mm for the 24-pin and peripheral leads, 250 mm for the EPS lead, and 300 mm plus two 100 mm branches for the three SATA connectors. The board measures 160 mm by 45 mm by 25 mm, while the adapter measures 168 mm by 71 mm by 37.5 mm.

Questions sur cet article
What clearance does the 160 mm wide DC board need inside the case?
The DC board measures 160 mm wide by 45 mm deep by 25 mm high, so allow at least that footprint plus cable bend radius behind the motherboard tray.
Which connector must be seated first to avoid bending the 24-pin cable?
Route the 200 mm 24-pin ATX cable to the motherboard before plugging the 250 mm 4+4-pin EPS and 300 mm SATA leads, otherwise the stiff 24-pin harness can kink.
When should the external 120 W 12 V/10 A AC-DC adapter be replaced?
Replace the adapter if output voltage drifts below 12 V under load or if the unit becomes audibly noisy, as the fanless DC board relies entirely on clean adapter power.
