The SonicWall TZ270 Total Secure is a desktop-form-factor network security appliance built for home offices and lean branch locations. It ships with a one-year Advanced Protection Security Suite that bundles threat prevention, content filtering and cloud-based management. Eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 ports and a console port provide wired connectivity for up to one thousand users.

Sustained inspection throughput

Under continuous load the appliance delivers 2 Gbps firewall inspection throughput and 750 Mbps threat prevention throughput. Application inspection and IPS throughput each reach 1 Gbps while anti-malware inspection holds at 750 Mbps. The platform supports 750,000 simultaneous sessions, so performance remains steady during prolonged traffic spikes rather than only in short bursts.

Gigabit Ethernet interface limits

The eight 1 GbE ports cap total wired throughput at the Gigabit level, so aggregate traffic cannot exceed that line rate regardless of internal processing headroom. Wireless operation is limited to the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without newer Wi-Fi standards. Maximum power draw is 16.84 W from a 36 W external supply, constraining deployment to sites with standard AC power.
