The Sonnet Allegro Pro USB 3.1 PCIe card adds four SuperSpeed+ USB-A connections to a Mac Pro tower, Windows PC, or Linux computer with an available PCIe slot. It uses two 10Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 controllers to deliver the bandwidth needed for the fastest external SSDs. The card also works inside a Thunderbolt to PCIe expansion system for added flexibility.

Connected to a USB 3.1 Gen 2 SSD RAID device, the card supports sustained transfers up to 800 MB/s, cutting copy times in half compared with USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 Gen 1 adapters. Bus-powered drives that demand more current than older ports can supply will operate reliably on these ports. The dual-controller design keeps each port at full Gen 2 speed even when multiple drives are active.
