The StarTech.com SATSASBP425 fits four 2.5in SAS or SATA drives into a single 5.25in bay. Removable trays with a key lock enable hot-swap operation for quick drive changes. Two 40 mm sleeve-bearing fans provide active cooling for the installed drives. The unit supports drive thicknesses from 5 mm to 15 mm.

Suited for hot-swap SAS/SATA arrays

This backplane suits builders who want removable 2.5in drives in a standard 5.25in slot with hardware RAID or software arrays. The 50,000-plus insertion rating and metal housing support frequent swaps for backup or drive-sharing workflows. Systems that require more than four drive bays or a different drive form factor will need another solution. Builds without a 5.25in bay cannot install this unit.

SATA and SAS 6 Gbps interface
