This Supermicro SYS-6028U-TR4T+ is a dual-socket 2U rackmount server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with 22 cores. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 memory across 24 DIMM slots and includes a MegaRAID 9361-8i controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Twelve hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays accept SATA or SAS drives.

Suits dense compute and storage workloads

The system fits virtualisation hosts, database clusters and cloud nodes that need high core counts, large memory capacity and 10 GbE networking in a 2U form factor. Quad RJ45 10GBase-T ports and IPMI 2.0 with dedicated LAN simplify remote management. Buyers who need GPU acceleration or more than eight internal SAS/SATA ports should evaluate alternative platforms, as the onboard Matrox G200 provides only 8 MB video memory and the RAID controller is limited to eight lanes.

768 GB DDR4 ECC memory installed

The server arrives with 24 x 32 GB DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC modules, filling every slot and reaching half the platform’s 1.5 TB maximum. This capacity determines how many virtual machines or in-memory databases can run simultaneously. If the workload demands more memory, additional DIMMs cannot be added without removing existing ones.
