The Synology RS1626xs+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage system built around an Intel Xeon D-1726 six-core processor and 16GB DDR4 ECC memory. It ships fully assembled with four 4TB Synology enterprise drives for 16TB raw capacity plus a 1.6TB NVMe cache tier. Dual 10GbE RJ-45 ports and a dedicated management LAN give IT teams high-throughput connectivity for virtualization, file sharing and backup workloads.

Sustained throughput with NVMe cache and 10GbE

Under continuous load the Xeon D-1726 maintains consistent compute for multi-user file access and virtual machine storage. The 1.6TB NVMe cache accelerates random read and write patterns while the dual 10GbE links keep network saturation low during replication or backup jobs. A PCIe Gen4 x8 slot remains available for additional networking or storage controllers if capacity grows beyond the four internal bays.

Front-to-rear airflow in 1U depth

The 44mm chassis uses front-to-rear cooling rated for 5°C to 35°C ambient temperature and 8% to 80% relative humidity. Dual C13 to C14 power cords connect to redundant 100-240 VAC supplies for continuous operation. Status LEDs show power, drive activity and 10GbE link state at a glance. Web-based DSM management and out-of-band LAN access simplify remote administration without extra hardware.
